Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Akera Agency (“Akera,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information in connection with our website, our booking and onboarding flow, and the tools we operate to deliver our services — including our social media management platform. By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, information created while you use our services, and information from third-party platforms you choose to connect.
- Information you submit. Name, email address, company details, and project information you provide during booking, onboarding, or when you contact us.
- Billing information. Payment details you provide to complete a purchase. These are processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers.
- Connected social accounts. When you connect a social media account (for example Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, LinkedIn, Skool, or others) to our management platform, we receive the credentials needed to act on your behalf. For most platforms this is an access token obtained through the platform’s official authorization flow. For platforms without a public posting API (currently Skool), our browser extension reads the session cookies from your own logged-in browser — only for that platform, and only when you choose to connect it — and transmits them to your Akera account so we can publish and schedule content on your behalf. See “Browser Extension” below.
- Content. Posts, captions, images, and media you create, upload, or schedule through our platform.
- Usage & device data. Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps, collected automatically to operate and secure our services.
How We Use Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve our services and website.
- To manage your project, handle billing, and communicate project updates.
- To publish, schedule, and manage social media content on the accounts you connect, at your direction.
- To respond to your requests and provide customer support.
- To secure our services, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
Platform Data (Meta, X, and others)
Our use of information received from third-party platform APIs adheres to each platform’s developer terms and policies, including the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies. Access tokens and platform data are used solely to provide the features you request — such as publishing and scheduling posts — and are never sold. We request only the permissions needed to operate these features. You can revoke our access at any time from the connected platform’s settings or by disconnecting the account in our platform, after which we stop using that platform’s data and delete stored tokens.
Browser Extension
We offer an optional browser extension (“Akera SMM”) whose single purpose is to let you connect platforms that do not provide a public posting API — currently Skool — to your Akera account.
- What it accesses. When you choose to connect Skool, the extension reads the Skool session cookies (specifically the authentication tokens) from your own logged-in browser. It accesses cookies only for Skool and does not read cookies, browsing history, or page content from any other website.
- How it is used. These session cookies are transmitted to your Akera account’s backend and used solely to authenticate to Skool so we can publish and schedule the content you create, at your direction. They are never sold or used for any unrelated purpose.
- Storage & refresh. The extension stores only what is needed to keep your connection active (your Akera backend address, an integration identifier, and an authorization token for refresh requests) in your browser’s local storage, and periodically refreshes the session so scheduled posts do not fail.
- Control & deletion. You can disconnect Skool at any time from within the Akera platform or by removing the extension. Disconnecting stops all cookie access and deletes the stored session and tokens.
- No remote code. The extension runs only the code shipped in its package; it does not download or execute remote scripts.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to operate our services:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf, such as Stripe (payments) and Resend (transactional email).
- Social platforms you connect, when we publish or schedule content at your direction.
- Legal & safety disclosures when required by law or to protect our rights and users.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide our services and for legitimate business or legal purposes. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it. Connected-account access tokens are deleted when you disconnect the account or on request.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, or to request deletion of data we hold about you, contact us using the details below.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information and limit access to those who need it.
International Transfers
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Children’s Privacy
Our services are intended for businesses and users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
