Overview
We partnered with Qimah to design a gamified student platform focused on helping university learners stay engaged, build momentum, and navigate academic goals with greater clarity. The brief centered on turning a promising concept into a more compelling product experience that felt motivating from the first session and sustainable over time, not just visually playful on the surface.
The Challenge
Qimah needed to appeal to students who were already managing competing priorities, fragmented schedules, and limited attention. The original experience introduced the platform’s features, but it did not clearly communicate how progress worked, what students should do first, or why returning regularly would feel rewarding. Without a stronger onboarding flow and better-designed progress loops, the platform risked losing momentum before habits had a chance to form.
Our Solution
We reworked the product around motivation, sequencing, and clearer feedback. Onboarding was simplified to make the first steps feel obvious, progress indicators were framed to create a stronger sense of momentum, and the gamified elements were positioned as meaningful reinforcement rather than decoration. The interface balanced energy with structure, helping students understand where they were, what came next, and how consistent action translated into visible advancement inside the platform.
The Results
The result was a more coherent student experience that made the platform easier to start, easier to stick with, and easier to understand. Qimah emerged with a stronger foundation for engagement and retention, supported by product flows that encouraged repeated use instead of one-time exploration. The redesign gave the platform a clearer path to building habit-driven behavior in a university audience that values both motivation and simplicity.
