Online Coaching for People Starting a Freelance Business
Overview
We partnered with Freelance Academy to shape an online coaching programme for people starting their first freelance business — the 0-to-1 stretch where most aspiring freelancers either land their first paid client or quietly drift back to a job they didn't want.
The Challenge
The freelance education market is full of generalist courses that teach skills in a vacuum and leave the actual business-building — niching, pricing, positioning, outreach, closing — as homework. Freelance Academy had a sharper, more practical curriculum but a digital experience that didn't communicate the difference at first glance. Visitors saw another freelancing course; they needed to see a programme that would walk them from "I'm thinking about freelancing" to "I have a paying client."
Our Solution
We rebuilt the programme experience around the real arc of going independent. Niche first, then position, then price, then sell — in a sequence that mirrors how working freelancers actually got their start. Programme pages lead with transformation, not curriculum. The signup flow respects ready-to-buy prospects without abandoning the undecided ones who need more proof. Trust-building moments — student outcomes, mentor credibility, the structure of the actual programme — show up at the points where a hesitant first-time freelancer is most likely to bounce.
The Results
Freelance Academy now reads as a serious 0-to-1 programme in a market that mostly sells theory. Prospects can evaluate the offer faster, see exactly what enrollment delivers, and move through signup with the confidence the category usually fails to provide. The brand has a foundation it can scale acquisition against — knowing the landing experience can hold the weight of paid traffic and convert it into students who actually finish what they start.
